Becca Barnet will design the TEDx set.
Tickets for TEDxCharleston 2016, which explores the idea of the Tipping Point, will go on sale Aug. 23 for $65. You can buy tickets here.
The event will take place Oct. 19 at Charleston Music Hall, and anyone interested in attending should consider buying tickets as soon as possible. Last year, tickets were only on sale for 12 hours before selling out. Worried about financial constraints preventing attendance? TEDxCharleston will also provide financial aid scholarships
to those attending this year’s event, with the goal being to provide 10 percent of the audience with scholarships.
For 30 years, TED conferences have supported various initiatives while featuring leading thinkers from across the globe, including Bill Gates, Jane Goodall, and Sir Richard Branson. Independently organized TED events, TEDx takes the spirit of TED and seeks to spark discussion and connection within the Charleston community.
This year’s TEDx set designer is local artist Becca Barnet, who has created unique décor for restaurants, museums, and offices. Barnet is currently working on the renovation and remodel of the Natural History Gallery at the Charleston Museum.
The speakers and performers of TEDxCharleston 2016 will be announced as soon as tickets go on sale.
