Last week the third annual Charleston Jazz Festival announced its 2017 headliners. The concert, held at the Gaillard on January Jan. 21, will feature The Manhattan Transfer and Take 6, both award-winning vocal groups. Combined, these two groups boast 20 Grammy Awards. Each group will perform a set featuring various musical genres from swing to gospel to pop as well as innovative arrangements and funky grooves.

The January performance will kick off with an opening performance by The Charleston Jazz Orchestra, an 18-piece big band featuring the best musicians in the Lowcountry. The CJO, now in its eighth season, is conducted and directed by Charlton Singleton. The Charleston Jazz Festival is produced and presented by Jazz Artists of Charleston to support and promote jazz culture throughout South Carolina.

Tickets for the January 2017 show are on sale, get them here.
