Tim Northern opens his shows with the words, "I love y'all."
Get your comedy dose creekside at Creekside Kitchen and Brewhouse, located in West Ashley, on Fri. Nov. 10 at 10 p.m. The show, appropriately dubbed Creekside Comedy Night, is hosted by Keith Dee, and features headliner Tim Northern as well as Natasha Ferrier, former Charlestonian Michael Clayton, and local comedian, Shawna Jarrett. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased online.
Dee is both a comedian and local emcee who hosts comedy shows around town at Creekside and SportsBook of Charleston, as well as an open mic at SportsBook (perhaps a good spot to get your start before your big comedy debut, eh?).
Northern, who describes himself as "200 pounds of manly man" with an "obscure" sense of humor, has appeared on Star Search, Last Comic Standing
, TMZ, and The Bob and Tom Show. This summer Northern presented the Tim Northern Comedy Festival,
a four-day fest in Louisville, KY.
Ferrier has toured across the southeast at the Cape Fear Comedy Festival, Southern Helles Tour, Wrecking Ball tour, and more, entertaining audiences with stories of drinking, relationships, and aging.
Jarrett is a local stand-up comedian who performs, yes, but also puts on a hell of a lot of shows around town, hosting the monthly Frothy Beard Comedy night, producing showcases, and participating in sketch comedy, concept shows, and roasts.
And last, but certainly not least, Clayton, a former Charlestonian who now lives in New York City, was a regular on the Charleston comedy circuit before heading up north. Fun fact: he's a huge Star Trek fan.
