For 15 years, Redux Contemporary Art Center has served as an incubator for creative minds across different mediums to foster and share their work with the Charleston community. Be a part of that community on Wed., Dec. 6, with Redux's monthly open studios event, in which artists open up their studios to showcase their blood, sweat, and tears (and art!) to the public.
From 6-9 p.m. check out the 38 exhibiting studios, including that of Redux’s current featured studio artist, Kate Hooray Osmond. Osmond works primarily with oil painting, sculpture and large multimedia installations, mostly focused on the relationships between people and their settings, and the beauty found in that relationship. Much of her work depicts abstracted coastlines and industry, based off of images taken while flying in a helicopter at various places in North America.
In addition to the art in individual artists’ studios, pieces by Redux artists will also be showcased and for sale in the main gallery, accompanied by refreshments and libations for those who attend. The event is free and open to the public.
