Bambu opened its doors on Wednesday night in Mt. Pleasant. Has anyone checked it out yet?
It's supposed to be a large-scale Asian bistro and upscale bar (think Nobu or P.F. Chang’s meets South Beach) with 8,000-square-feet of dining space — half indoors and half out — and a palatial exterior, with “über booths,” fountains, and aquarium tanks, according to my intern's report in this week's paper.
The cuisine is a mix of Vietnamese, Thai, Japanese, and Chinese traditional dishes with currant sauces and reductions made from liquors and fruit purées.
I'm thinking about checking it out this evening with my sushi-obsessed children. Would love to hear any reports from folks who've been.
