I hate VIP parties, mostly because rich people are boring, but the sushi being served at the kickoff is pretty good, and there are a ton of cool chefs to gawk at. Saw two guys from Top Chef Las Vegas, which I don't watch, but I know Barna's jealous (she watches that stuff). Also met the chef from Corton in NYC that I'll be dining with tomorrow night at McCrady's dine around — Andre, McCrady's general manager, tells me the guy is serious, doesn't joke around, after shaking his hand I'd have to agree — this guy doesn't even smile — a chef's chef. And that's the kind I like.
