I woke up this morning with the panic bearing down on me like the paparazzi on Lindsay Lohan. Thanksgiving is a week away, I've got a houseful of guests showing up next Tuesday, and my refrigerator is bare. No turkey has been ordered. No shopping has been done. We're even down to our last roll of toilet paper. It's time to stop procrastinating and start making those lists. Fortunately, I've got a folder on my computer labeled THANKSGIVING. Inside are the master menu and recipes we've been following for years.
Looking at it actually calmed my panic. The menu is straightforward, and the assignments are always the same.
Green Beans (Buy Wed/ make THURS)
Brussels Sprouts (make Thurs)
(MAMAMA) Cranberry Sweet Potato Bake
(MAMAMA) Fruit Salad
Pumpkin Chiffon PIe
(MAMAMA) Apple Cranberry Pie
Pecan Chocolate Pie
(MAMAMA) Iced Tea
Piece of cake. I just need to start shopping and organizing. Oh, and I need to clean out the pantry, get the outdoor fridge working again, decorate the house, paint the living room, wash the drapes and cushion covers, bathe the dogs.... Ack. Now you can see where I freak myself out a little.
