Last year, I missed my chance to attend the Music to Your Mouth event at Palmetto Bluff in Bluffton, sending Robert Moss to cover it in my stead. And boy do I regret it. Not soon after the November weekend, I ran into some friends who went. They said it was easily the best food thing they'd ever been to what with the relaxed vibe, the campfires, the chefs (like Sean Brock and Kevin Gillespie), the bourbon, the food. I was green with envy, beset with regret, and resolved to not make that mistake again.
And you shouldn't either. If you'd like to go, and find the tickets to be out of your budget, there's a chance to win a pair of tickets for the Nov. 19 culinary festival.
All you have to do is write a gushy, mushy story about your dream Southern food mentor at musictoyourmouth.com. Submissions will be accepted from Oct. 24-28 and the winner will be notified on Nov. 1 via Twitter and Facebook.
Here's a tip: Frank Lee, Sean Brock, and Mike Lata will be there cooking. Perhaps one of these guys could fulfill your dream date in the kitchen?
