McCrady’s Chef Sean Brock is off again, this time to Paris and the Paris des Chefs event where he will be doing a “Gastronomic Duet” with artist Jeff Scott, the producer behind the new Notes from a Kitchen two-volume series, which features Brock prominently.
The annual event is a high-profile gathering of the world’s culinary elite, of which Brock is now securely a member. In its fourth year, Paris des Chefs showcases the creative pairings of chefs with architects, designers, artists, filmmakers, actors, musicians, and photographers.
I talked to Scott yesterday as he was driving to the airport. He was a in a fine mood and couldn’t wait to get to Paris.
“It’s one of the premier chef events in the world,” Scott says. “Twenty of the top chefs in the world bring artists that they work with for a presentation that’s one hour long. Sean and I did the book together, so he asked me if I would do this with him.”
Scott has put together four films to present. “Most presentations are dry,” Scott says. “This one will be pretty kinetic. It’s really exciting.”
Other gastronomic duets on the lineup include musician Wynton Marsalis and David Kinch of Manresa in San Francisco and Albert Adria (Tickets, Barcelona, Spain) with designers Ester Luesma Maymo and Francisco Javier Vega Ortega (designers, Spain). The event is hosted by Alain Ducasse.
