Joe Pasta will re-open Friday after a fire forced the restaurant to shut its doors for two-and-a-half weeks.
"While the fire was a definite setback, it's just another bump in the road on Joe Pasta's long-lasting journey," says owner Harrison Edelson. "We're working hard to reopen bigger, better, stronger than ever." Joe Pasta has been at the corner of King and John streets since 1998, and it is a popular destination with Cooper River Bridge Run participants carbo-loading before the early-April race.
The fire broke out in the restaurant's office on the night of Feb. 26, and no one was injured as employees and customers evacuated the building. Edelson had originally planned to re-open within a day or two after the fire, but repairs took a little bit longer than expected. For the grand re-opening, the restaurant will feature live music from Abe White on Friday night and Midnight City on Saturday night.
