Cru Café, a staple in the Charleston food scene, has introduced a new logo and two new divisions to their family of well-known brands.
Cru Café (circa 2002) and Cru Catering (circa 2000) have been around for a while, but Pit Cru and Cru On the Go will complete their family of four.
Pit Cru will focus on all things barbecue. The division specializes in hickory-smoked whole pig and parts in addition to cuts of beef, turkey, and chicken. Pit Cru will set up barbecue stations, oyster roasts, sandwiches, and burger stations at your party.
Cru On the Go is a corporate box lunch service. “[It] is well presented, high quality box lunches and salads,” says Cru owner and chef John Zucker. “We also saw an area that is not being addressed in the catering industry in Charleston — it’s very affordable, for people that do not have the budgets for mid to higher-end catering.” There’s an order minimum of 10 lunches.
As far as the new logo is concerned, nothing else has really changed about Cru Café’s original Lowcountry dining style. “The main reason we wanted to make a change in our logo was to keep Cru fresh in peoples’ minds,” says Zucker. “We wanted to help people understand that we are continually progressing in the food industry.”
