Could NYC's The Fat Radish be opening in Charleston?

Today in wishful eating, we’re hoping a post on Design Sponge means a Charleston outpost of NYC’s The Fat Radish could be opening here soon. In a post titled “Relaxed Southern Living in Charleston,” The Fat RadishThe Leadbelly, and The East Pole co-owner Ben Towill’s girlfriend Kate Dougherty shares images and info on the couple’s new Charleston abode. That’s right, six months ago the duo apparently moved here and quickly snuggled into a New World Byzantine home. So could that mean a version of Towill’s much loved Lower East Side “hipstervore haunt” (as New York mag calls it) be opening in Charleston?

We reached out to Fat Radish’s publicity team and they told us that no plans have been put forth yet. Apparently Towill is currently biking across the nation on a food fact-finding field trip and can’t be reached for comment. So, for now, we’re left to speculate, and drool over their wonderfully quirky new home.
