Jack's Cafe has a cleaned up look thanks to new owners Edward and Nancy Flynn
There's a new sign out front, the booths have been reupholstered, and the greasy patina of the perma-hot griddle is gone. The renovated Jack's Cafe
will reopen next week.
"We are very excited about our new chef and wait staff and our new menu based on all the classics of an American diner including many of the original Jack's favorite's," co-owner Nancy Flynn writes in an email. Nancy and her husband Edward purchased Jack's Cafe from Jack Sewell upon his retirement in October
, and have spent the past few months retrofitting 41 George St.
We haven't had a chance to take a full tour of the space yet, but a peek through the window this morning revealed a serious spit shine — and it looks damn good, too. Here's hoping the decor updates won't greatly affect Jack's can't-beat-'em prices.
