Today, the  Post & Courier's Warren Wise writes that Palmetto Brewing's Huger Street space has been sold to White Point Partners, who plan to turn it into 200 apartments with retail and restaurant space.

According to Wise, last year Palmetto announced its plans to move to a new building on Azalea Drive in North Charleston. The move was part of a joint development with Firefly Distillery and was going to also include a music venue and restaurant.

But on Wednesday, The Charleston Business Journal reported that those plans had ended. Firefly co-ower Scott Newitt told reporter Ashley Heffernan that the property proved to be too small for two production facilities.

We got in touch with Palmetto CEO John Planty and he says that now their plans for a move are up in the air. "Palmetto doesn’t plan to move until our building lease is up (not until September 2018)," says Planty. "We’re meeting with the new property owners on Monday and should have some additional insight to share after that."
