Bill Murray's new Harold's Cabin restaurant names Justin Moore as head chef

For a while now it's felt like the concept of Harold's Cabin, a restaurant/corner store slated to 247 Congress St., was just another Bill Murray high jink. The movie star is one of the owners (along with Mike Veeck of Yarrum Properties) of the long-awaited project after all. In random Murray-style, for months all that marked the spot of the future venue was a Charlie Brown-esque Christmas tree out front. But now we're told a chef has been hired. Justin Moore will take over the kitchen serving breakfast through dinner seven days a week.

According to Harold's Cabin publicity team, Moore is from Columbia and most recently worked at now defunct Carolina's. "Moore’s vegetable driven menus will feature regional seafood and game, as well as snowballs to pay homage to the original Harold’s Cabin," a press release says. In the early 1920s Harold Jacobs ran the space as a snowball shop, then restaurant and grocery store.

In addition to the chef news, Harold's Cabin has also hired an in-house gardener. Leslie Wade will manage a rooftop garden that will be used to source veggies for the kitchen.
