Next month Summerville will become home to City Paper readers favorite fried chicken restaurant, Boxcar Betty's. Co-owners Roth Scott and Ian MacBryde have confirmed that they're opening their second location behind Flowertown's Cracker Barrel at 114 Holiday Drive.

Scott and MacBryde opened their first Boxcar Betty's at 1922 Savannah Hwy. last April and immediately got rave reviews for their items like their Chicken & Not-So Waffle sandwich and killer sweet potato fries. So when it came time to discuss expansion, Scott says they decided to take their winning recipe up the road to serve Summerville's growing population.

"There's been an explosion there and it's just going to continue," says Scott.

Boxcar Betty's fans can expect to find the same menu at the Summerville location when it opens in November.
