Last year's W + F Pecha Kucha talk was a rip-roaring success.

for Pecha Kucha's Charleston Wine + Food event featuring eight speakers from the food and bev world for a killer night at Sottile Theatre on Fri. March 4 from 7-10 p.m. There will be four food trucks onsite — Short Grain, Lunchbox, Roadside Seafood, and Outta My Huevos — along with cocktails aplenty from award-winning mixologists.
CWF first hosted Pecha Kucha last year and with a stellar response, marketing and communications director for the fest, Laura Kate Whitney, calls the collab's sequel, "a no-brainer." Read on for this year's speakers.
Michael Blake is a founder and volunteer for Charleston's Teach the Need program, which introduces high school juniors and seniors to front-of-house food and bev hospitality.
Quintin Middleton is a bladesmith (yes, badass) who created Middleton Made Knives,
a company that creates custom knives with high carbon steel.
Justin Buchanan is the co-founder of Red Harbor Rum. We interviewed him this summer
for our SWIG guide, and the guy's got chops. What started as a college class project turned into a rum distillery in a North Charleston warehouse.
Will Altman is the owner of Righteous Ranch
, a hog farm where he pasture-raises a heritage-breed pig called the mulefoot.
Scott Shor is the beer guy
behind the Charleston Beer Exchange and Edmund's Oast. Need we say more?
Thomas Bowen started the local consulting and advocacy group
Cycles Compost Charleston, which aims to "make compost cool," by eliminating organic matter in landfills, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and beautifying the city.
Margaret Seeley Furniss
founded Caviar & Bananas in 2008 with her husband, Kris Furniss, and after adding a location in 2011, the two will open two new locations this summer.
Alluette Jones is the former owner of Alluette's Cafe, the go-to place for healthy soul food. She's currently working on a Kickstarter to open a new restaurant.
The evening will be emceed by Amy Robinette (a.k.a. The Cake Farmer
) with music provided by DJ Professor Ping.
