The Bourbon Thyme is made with Granny Smith-infused Jim Beam straight bourbon, lemon, Aperol, thyme, honey, and orange bitters.
Last week I attended a whiskey dinner at Prohibition and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't still feeling it the next morning. The dinner was divine and the whiskey, specially curated by Diageo's master of whiskey Douglas Kragel, was smooth, sweet, spicy, and everything in between. The evening was a one-time only gig though, so I can't promise you tastes of the same good times.
What I can offer is a peek into Prohibition's reasonably priced happy hour, which I (perhaps unwisely) took advantage of before the dinner. With five specialty cocktails offered at half price, it leaves you lookin' at $5 or $6 for some fancy drinks, and food choices like fish tacos priced at $5 and pickle brined chicken wings for $1 a piece.
The bar was packed, the bartenders were gracious and helpful, and the drinks were damn good, without hurting my tee tiny drink budget. Happy hour runs 4-7 p.m., so check it out tonight.
