  • Belmond's opening a new sports pub
The corner of Meeting and Market street has been many things. For years the Belmond Charleston Place-owned 120 Market St. location was a Waldenbooks before becoming the short-lived Colonial Candle shop. Now it looks like the hotel is opening what this city loves best, a restaurant.

According to the most recent BAR agenda, the hotel requested conceptual approval for a sign package for a sports bar, Meeting at Market. The request includes bronze plaques and lettering to be placed outside the address as well as signage on the corner.

Audra Poole, Belmond's publicist says, "It will be independently branded and have a more casual personality but is being operated by the hotel."

No details yet on Meeting at Market's opening date, but here's a rendering that shows what the outside may look like.
