Good news for people who love caffeine news. If you work in the Half Mile North area, beginning Thursday you can ditch your Keurig pods and get a cup of the real thing at Butcher & Bee (1085 Morrison Drive). The new location will begin selling Stumptown coffee and pastries from new pastry chef Cynthia Wong 8-11 a.m. every weekday.
The Bee also plans to roll out lunch and brunch service beginning June 1. Lunch will be available weekdays while brunch will be offered on weekends from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
And mark your calendars because barbecue badass Rodney Scott, of Scott's Bar-B-Que in Hemingway, S.C., will visit the Bee on Tues. May 31 and he's bringing a whole hog with him. The event is a book signing for Rien Fertel, a James Beard Award-nominated freelance writer and author of the new book The One True Barbecue: Fire, Smoke, and the Pitmasters Who Cook the Whole Hog.
The $65 ticket includes Scott's barbecue, sides from B&B chefs Chelsey Conrad and William Mote, and a copy of the book.
