Stetson Tom has opened Hibachi on Line Street
Just because a location seems to be the kiss of death doesn't mean new business owners won't try to make a go of it. Such is the case with 8D Line Street.
The 300 square-foot-space had a hit with Georgean's Caribbean Soul two years back, but that closed when owner and chef Tim Jackson decided to look for a larger space. (We still haven't heard word if he found one yet). Then Thrive Organic Eatery opened in the tiny kitchen last September. The restaurant owned by James Nease and Aaron Goldberg lasted a few months before shuttering.
But that hasn't stopped a new entrepreneur from taking a chance on the spot once again. Stetson Tom has opened a take-out only hibachi and sushi restaurant at 8D Line St. He'll officially unlock his doors tomorrow and serve traditional hibachi options like teriyaki steak, shrimp, chicken, etc, in addition to sushi.
"We'll be selling Tobo Sushi," says Tom. Tobo
caters as well as provides sushi to many places around town such as Queen Street Grocery, Bert's Market, and Snapper Jack's according to its website.
Tom says Hibachi will be open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily beginning tomorrow. To order, call (843) 789-4564.
