It may still feel like July, but the holidays are fast approaching, and that means break out your buckaroos, it's present season.

Sure whozits and whatsits and gadgets galore are fun to give, but you know what's even more fun (and affordable)? Buying local. From now through Nov. 22, food and goods vendors can apply to sell their wares at the fourth annual Johns Island Homegrown Holiday Bazaar, hosted by the Johns Island Farmers Market and Sea Island Chamber of Commerce. Last year, more than 100 vendors and 1,500 shoppers took over Johns Island County Park for the day-long fest.

All regular Johns Island farmers market vendors will be in attendance at the bazaar, along with other community growers and makers. In addition to the market, there will be live music from the V-Tones and Members of Sol Driven Train, a holiday tractor show, an appearance from Mr. and Mrs. Clause, seasonal-themed games, cookie and ornament decorating, carriage rides, Marsh Tacky horse meet and greet, pony rides, a bounce house, and more.

Interested food trucks and vendors can email Frasier at JohnsIslandFarmersMarket@gmail.com, businesses interested in sponsorships can email Karen at Karen@seaislandschamber.org, and those interested in volunteering can email Jennifer at Jennifer@seaislandschamber.org.

Support your area food trucks, farmers, and artisans during the holidays, so that they continue to prosper throughout the year.
