The new Edmund's Oast Brewing Co. has it all: delectable wings, beer flights, perfectly boiled peanuts, and a sweet, chic spot next to Workshop Charleston. And, starting Wed. Oct. 11, they'll have even more to offer: EOBC will host a monthly charity day on the second Wednesday of the month, with 25 percent of the day's proceeds given to the chosen charity.
The first charity on deck is Pet Helpers
. "It has always been important for Edmund’s Oast to be a good community steward, especially as it pertains to the neighborhood our businesses are in. With the opening of the new brewery, we now have some great opportunities to do so in a more meaningful way," says operating partner Scott Shor.
The next two 2017 recipients are Creative Mornings (
Nov. 8) and Camp Happy Days
And, in addition to the charity days, EOBC's beer tap one — the beer on tap currently is Coin Operated, a Belgian golden table beer, 3.7 % ABV — has been designated the community charity tap. One dollar of each pint sold from the tap will benefit a charity, and to kick things off, EOBC has selected Enough Pie and their Butterfly Book Nook garden project.
The project will be built in spring 2018 and will be an education and recreation space for First African Day School and John L. Dart Library.
