So I had just had a mind-blowing epiphany: I've been eating Kickin' Chicken
for three-fourths of the restaurant's years in business.
Launched in 1997 under the direction of Chip Roberts and Bobby Perry, the first Kickin' Chicken location was on Morrison Drive near City Paper'
s old digs. Today, of course we all know Roberts, Perry, and David Miller — who partnered up with the two after they opened their second James Island location — run a locally owned and operated chicken empire.
To celebrate their 20 years of success, today through Nov. 19, all five local locations will be throwing a party with beer specials that pay homage to their first year in business — $1.97 Bud Light and Buds, 97 sweet tea and cent kids' meals, craft drafts for $3.97, and $5.97 Buffalo dip, three piece tenders, and sandwiches.
