Fry some turkeys, drink some beer
Rusty Bull Brewing is doing its part to give back this holiday season, making altruism about as fun as it gets with bowling, booze, and communal frying.
The North Charleston brewery will host a frozen turkey bowling contest tonight starting at 4:30 p.m. Guests who bring in a frozen turkey for donation will receive a complimentary pint of beer. The competition will consist of three frames, two rolls per frame, and prizes will be given to the top three scores at the end of the day.
Those frozen turkeys you so graciously donated? They will be fried up at the Birds-N-Brews Community Turkey Fry taking place Wed. Nov. 22 starting at 10 a.m. onsite at Rusty Bull. NOTE: These are not the same turkeys that were used for bowling, these are untouched frozen birds, don't worry, we checked.
Planet Fitness, the North Charleston Coliseum and Performing Arts Center, and Contemplate team up with Rusty Bull for the fry, which benefits families in need through the North Charleston Dream Center and East Cooper Meals on Wheels. The goal is for volunteers to drink some beer, hang out with friends, and help to fry 100 to 150 turkeys throughout the day. Cigar Lounge will be onsite with cigars available for purchase, and while adults hang out in the back lot, little ones can play on a jump castle set up in the front lot. In addition to your time, Rusty Bull is asking that members of the community donate what they can, be it money, frying oil, fryers, thermometers, propane, disposable metal pans, or turkeys.
