All of us have our Thanksgiving favorites, but whether you want to see sweet potato, pumpkin, or some adulterated version of pecan pie on the table, we can all agree that some kind of pie is better than no pie at all.
OK? Glad we got that straight.
Well, if S.C. Google trends are any indicator, Palmetto State web crawlers (maybe even the cooks in the kitchen) prefer pumpkin pie over all other pies. Most of the U.S. preferred pumpkin, in fact, with folks in just a few other states dialing up other pie choices. Pecan comes in second, but there's a bit of uncertainty about the third and fourth choices, likely apple and sweet potato. (The map provided by Google shows apple and one other pie topping charts in Georgia and Alabama, but sweet potato isn't specifically.)
As far as the bird goes, S.C. searchers were mostly seeking info on fried turkey, which could either mean that people wanted to avoid a mis-fry (see YouTube) or that there are a lot of fried turkeys on tables these days. Most of America stuck with a traditional roasted bird, with a few plains states looking to smoke their turkey.
Thankfully for all of us, there are very few monsters out there looking to grill their turkeys.
