The festival formerly known as the Charleston Beer Garden will take place in a new location, Riverfront Park, with a new name, Charleston Beer Fest, on Sat. May 18 2019. It will still benefit Palmetto Community Care and help provide HIV prevention education and awareness across the tri-county area.
The new name and location reflects the event's growth. The 2018 event had more than 3,000 attendees sampling more than 60 craft beers, interactive games, live music, food trucks, local vendors, and a Homebrewers' Village. As the event grew, they needed new space, and the previous location, The Grove at Patriots Point, was slated for development.
You'll still smile at this beer slingin' event
“As we began searching for a new festival venue, we also realized it was a good time to change the name to Charleston Beer Fest,” said director of development and marketing for Palmetto Community Care Jason Kirk in a press release. “As this event grows in terms of number of attendees and our regional craft beer offerings, we felt ‘fest’ was more descriptive of the event focus and atmosphere.”
Celebrate the renamed Charleston Beer Fest at Pint of Hope, an event at Frothy Beard Brewing this Tues. Oct. 16 that benefits Palmetto Community Care. $1 from each pint sold will be donated and attendees will have chances to win tickets to the 2019 Charleston Beer Fest.
