Local chefs prepare small bites at the annual Chefs' Feast
Charleston foodies and philanthropists are banding together for another year to fight childhood hunger in the 10 coastal counties of South Carolina. Chefs' Feast, a yearly collaboration between the Lowcountry Food Bank and dozens of chefs from across the Lowcountry, is coming back for its 20th anniversary this Sun. Feb. 10 at 6 p.m. at the North Charleston Convention Center.
Ticket prices for the event range anywhere from $250 for an individual ticket to $25,000 for an exclusive master chef partnership. During the feast, guests will have the chance to taste delicious local eats while raising funds to support the Lowcountry Food Bank.
The all-inclusive ticket gets you access to a bar, live auction, and a variety of bites prepared by the Lowcountry's top cooks. Wild Olive and Obstinate Daughter exec chef Jacques Larson serves as the lead chef for the second year in a row; other participating chefs include Jeremiah Bacon (Indigo Road Restaurant Group), John Zucker (Cru Cafe and Catering, Purlieu), Kelly Franz (Magnolia's), Vinson Petrillo (Zero George), Tonya Mitchell (Aramark at CofC), Liz Gorman (Ms. Rose's), Michael Toscano (Le Farfalle), and more.
Ticket and auction sales go to the food bank, money that will go towards their childhood hunger programs that help students after school, on the weekends, and over the summer. Thanks to Chefs' Feast and the many community sponsors, these programs were able to give 130,000 backpacks to children during the 2018 school year and over 14,000 20-pound boxes of food to students and their families.
