The Ordinary veterans Will Love and Carlton 'Vandy' Vanderwarker's French bistro Maison will open des portes this Wednesday evening, they announced on Instagram. Located at 708 King Street, the former casa of Pancito & Lefty, the bistro joins an already poppin' block — there's Graft, Leon's, Little Jack's, and Melfi's all nearby. As Graft co-owner Femi Oyediran posted on the 'gram this weekend, "The block is HOT."

When we chatted with the guys in December, they said they plan to start with dinner service six nights a week, plus a Sunday Funday. Vanderwarker says things have changed a bit since then, and now they'll be taking reservations from 5-10 p.m. Mon.-Thurs. and 5-10:30 p.m. Fri. and Sat. They'll be closed on Sunday.

As for what to expect at Maison, Love told us, "We are going to take the food, a lot of French food is heavier, and breathe in lightness to it, that sense of modernity. It's balanced food, all my food is balanced — if you have a heavy butter sauce, it pairs with a very light protein."

The restaurant hosted a soft opening over the weekend, and their guests posted a few snaps of the menu. Items include salmon rillette, Burgundy escargot, almond crusted snapper, baked tilefish, and dry aged duck. The space itself is black and white and French all over, tres Francais.

Keep up to date with Maison's movements by following them on Instagram.
