Lucky Dube brings good vibes to Pour House

Fans and critics hail South African singer Lucky Dube as “the shining star of African reggae.” The veteran performer has more than 21 albums filled with sociopolitical lyrics and worldly grooves. “Looking at people, watching people’s movements, the things they do … my songs are based on real life situations and experiences,” Dube says. He’s due in town next Tuesday, Aug. 28 at the Pour House, who’ve been booking an increasingly global array of artists this year. Cover is $15 and showtime is 9 p.m.
