Young San Fran jam band Tea Leaf Green share the Pour House stage this Sunday, Sept. 7 at 9 p.m. with newly-formed R&B/rock supergroup Moonalice. This is the second time this year the two bands toured through Charleston.
A rootsy, unsigned band with a seriously deep blues and hippie-rock pedigree, Moonalice is
comprised of guitarist G.E. Smith
(the Saturday Night Live
band, Bob Dylan, Hall & Oats), bassist/keyboardist Pete Sears (Jefferson Starship, Hot Tuna, Rod Stewart), bassist/guitarist Barry Sless (Phil Lesh & Friends, David Nelson Band), multi-instrumentalists/vocalists Ann and Roger McNamee (Flying Other Brothers), and drummer/bassist Jimmy Sanchez (Bonnie Raitt, Boz Scaggs).
The improv-heavy Tea Leaf Green has been busy on the road building up a loyal and devoted fan base. Currently, bassist Reed Mathis, pianist Trevor Garrod, guitarist Josh Clark, and drummer Scott Rager are touring in support of Seeds
, a three-CD collection of the band’s first three self-released studio albums (Tea Leaf Green
, Midnight on the Reservoir
, and Living In Between
