Grammy-winning Christian pop stars Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith join forces for their first tour together in over two decades for the 2 Friends Tour. The, well, two friends stop by the North Charleston Performing Arts Center on Feb. 17, performing individual hits as well as a few collaborations.
Expect to hear the classics, including Grant’s “Sing Your Praise to the Lord” and Smith’s “I Will Be With You.” Some new ones should make it into the set, as both artists released new albums earlier this year; Smith’s titled Wonder and Grant’s Somewhere Down the Road.
Smith became a keyboardist for Grant’s Age to Age Tour in the early '80s after penning a few tunes for her. He later became her opening act, with the two embarking on several joint tours together. Grant has sold over 30 million albums and is one of the only two Christian artists to be inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame, while Smith was inducted into the Christian Hall of Fame in 2009.
Tickets for the show are on sale for $39.50 and $29.50 via northcharlestoncoliseumpac.com. —Jansen Cumbie
