Charleston indie band Slow Runner celebrates the release of a new full-length album titled Damage Points next month. Singer-songwriter-keyboardist Michael Flynn and multi-instrumentalist Josh Kaler celebrate with a CD release party at the Pour House on Sat. March 12 with Babylips opening at 9 p.m.

Expect bits of melodic piano pop and tastefully synthesized percussion and embellishments. “Damage Points is a sweet little record and deserves every chance to get out there and make it in this cold, cold world,” says Kaler, who produced the disc at his Hello Telescope Studio.

Slow Runner embarks on a collaborative North American tour in late March with big-bearded indie songwriter William Fitzsimmons, who has a new disc titled Gold in the Shadow.

“We’re beyond thrilled to announce a massive spring tour supporting our upcoming release,” says Kaler. “A few years ago we were lucky enough to play a bunch of shows with the amazing William Fitzsimmons, wherein we all rode around together and played music for nice folks, first a Slow Runner set, then a William set with us backing him up. It worked really well and we’ve always wanted to do it again.”

The tour hits 46 cities in the U.S. and Canada. Visit slowrunnermusic.com and williamfitzsimmons.com for more.
