Already in its 29th year, the annual nine-day North Charleston Arts Festival kicked off at the North Charleston Convention Center on April 29.

A variety of live musical events continue in the North Charleston area at libraries, parks, community centers, and venues through May 7, including national, regional, and local folk, blues, jazz, and pop acts.

A Grand Finale at Riverfront Park (1001 Everglades Ave.) is set for 6 p.m. on May 7 with jump castles, live music, poetry, dance, and fireworks. Local band Fowl Play performs at 8 p.m., just before the fireworks display over the Cooper River at 9 p.m.
