Wanna hear the Apes? This week, longtime Charleston rock band the Fire Apes are finally releasing a collection of glistening anthems and power-pop tunes that has been in the works for two years.

Songwriter, singer, and guitarist John Seymour enlisted a small army of session musicians and local bandmates for the sessions. Due May 23, A Life in Letters includes remastered mixes from a previous EP along with some brand-new tracks.

Studio production credits include Eric Bass (of Shinedown), Sean O’Keefe (Fall Out Boy, the Plain White T’s, Hawthorne Heights), Jody Porter (of Fountains of Wayne), and veteran producers John Holbrook and Nathan James.

A Life in Letters will be streaming on AOL (music.aol.com) this week. It will be available on iTunes and CD Baby later this month. Visit thefireapes.com for more.
