Charleston-based indie/Americana act Shovels & Rope — a.k.a. Cary Ann Hearst and Michael Trent, of the local Shrimp Records collective — have been touring heavily this spring since their winter jaunts with Hayes Carll, Jason Isbell, and the Felice Brothers.
The duo recently announced a weekly residency at the Pour House as well as a string of summer/fall tour dates in the Northeast and Midwest supporting songwriter Justin Townes Earle.
Last fall, Hearst and Trent unveiled a nicely produced video clip for the love/hate song “Hell’s Bells.” They’ll play a variety of stringed and percussion instruments on the back deck at the Pour House every Monday evening in June. Expect a cool variety of hillbilly blues, country, and rockabilly from 6-9 p.m.
