Jen and Mike Kulick, the proprietors of the Avondale hotspot Voodoo Tiki Bar, announced plans to renovate their popular lounge room this summer.

“We’ve decided it’s time for a little TLC for the old Voodoo,” says Jen. “It’s served Mike and me well for many years, and now we’re giving back.”

The lounge will be closed from Aug. 7-12, while the adjacent bar area will continue to stay open throughout.

Improv-based combo Faces for Radio will perform a mix of funk, jazz, and rock grooves in the lounge at 9 p.m. on Tues. July 11.

Another rum-fueled Lunacy at Voodoo costume party is set for Thurs. July 14 with music and entertainment by DJ United and Breakin’ Skulls. Admission for both events is $3.
