Veteran singer-songwriter and Grammy Award-winner Lucinda Williams is solid for a concert at the Charleston Music Hall on Sun. Oct. 16. Tickets for the show go on sale for $39 at 10 a.m. on Fri. Sept. 23 via Etix.com.

Williams’ latest release Blessed (Lost Highway) features a dynamic mix of blues, country, and folk-rock styles. Acclaimed studio producer Don Was oversaw the recording sessions, which had several guest stars, including Rami Jaffe on keyboards, Matthew Sweet on vocals, and Greg Leisz and Elvis Costello on guitar.

“It’s nothing new to see Williams tug at the heartstrings and stimulate the mind with her songs, but there is a vibe throughout Blessed that is unique to this album in-particular,” says a press released from Lost Highway. “It’s the sound of the wisdom and experience Williams has gained through her years as an uncompromising talent.”

The deluxe edition of Blessed includes bonus material titled The Kitchen Tapes, culled from demos Williams recorded at her kitchen table, where she does much of her writing.

The last time Williams performed in Charleston was in 2008 at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center. The Charleston Music Hall show is billed as “An Evening with Lucinda Williams.” Tickets are available by calling the box office at (800) 514-3849 or checking out charlestonmusichall.com.
