Veteran local songwriter Jay Clifford (formerly of pop/rock band Jump, Little Children) celebrates the release of a fan-funded solo album titled Silver Tomb for the Kingfisher this week. The new collection follows his 2007 solo debut Driving Blind.

Clifford recorded Silver Tomb for the Kingfisher at his downtown recording studio Hello Telescope, a facility he shares with Slow Runner’s Josh Kaler. Both musicians have produced a handful of artists at Hello Telescope, including Colbie Callait, Vedera, Caitlin Crosby, and, most recently, William Fitzsimmons.

Clifford performs at the Footlight Players Theatre at 8 p.m. on Fri. Oct. 7. He’ll handle acoustic guitar and Wurlitzer organ with accompaniment from Kaler (on ukulele, pedal steel, and banjo) and a trio of guest string players. Admission is $15.
