Two men robbed the Oasis Bar & Grill at gunpoint around 3 a.m. Thursday after the bar had closed.
According to a report from the Charleston County Sheriff's Office, two black males wearing masks over their faces entered the Folly Road bar and music venue around 3 a.m. and demanded money. One of them was holding a silver-colored pistol. They took a wooden coin box and a cash register with an undetermined amount of money inside, and then they left.
Oasis general manager Jeremy Hodge says business is going on as usual. There will be a DJ show tonight with four or five DJs, he says, and the punk band Guttermouth is lined up for a show on Sept. 14. "One night of someone being stupid and pulling a gun on people and robbing me is not going to shut down my business," Hodge says.
A Sheriff's Office spokesman said Friday afternoon that there was nothing new to report in regards to the robbery investigation. One of the suspects is described as 5'6" and 170 pounds, while the other is described as 5'8" and 180 pounds.
