Local band Stop Light Observations debuted the beautifully dark video for “Smilers of the Night” last night, just in time for Halloween. “The song is about the darkness and sadness behind the front people put on at night while partying, drinking, doing drugs, etc.," bassist Coleman Sawyer says. "Often you will see people out an about seemingly having a blast, but see them miserable during the daytime. In the video, a projector is hooked up to the brain of a character played by our lead singer Will Blackburn that displays the various darknesses that can exist within the human mind."
The video is produced by Adam Gorlitsky and directed by Los Angeles-based cinematographer Michael Alden Lloyd, who flew in for the three-day shoot at Studio Charleston. Check it out below:
