Local psych-indie-rock band Orange Doors released the single “Noggin” today via 1770 Records.

The CofC student-run label will throw a single-release party tomorrow Tues. April 21 at the Communications Museum (58 George St.) at 8 p.m. The band Ultra Lo-Fi will open.

“Noggin” is the first track off the band’s upcoming album, Mush.

"The single, ‘Noggin,’ as well as the rest of the album Mush is really about crossing the bridge from being young to being considered an adult — realizing the change is taking place and not remembering how or why,” drummer Michael Ewens says. “The name Mush also defines our songwriting and structure by taking riffs and chord progressions we’ve written throughout the years and matching them with ones with a similar feel.”

Recorded with producer Thomas O’Brien at West Ashley’s Hybrid Audio Solutions, Mush showcases a fuller production sound than their previous releases Bean and The Silver Sun.

Mush will be available soon on orangedoors.bandcamp.com
