Stop Light Observations are set to record a new album this fall with songs they’ve been perfecting for the past few months.

“We will be setting up a studio for two weeks at John Keith’s river house and isolating ourselves there for that time,” says percussionist Coleman Sawyer. “We really want to get a good vibe going with these recordings and putting ourselves in a beautiful, natural setting is going to be a great way to do it.”

This record will be the first with songs written by members other than the primary lyrical contributor (and multi-instrumentalist), John-Keith Culbreth.

“Spending much of our time traveling and performing together has let us really get to know the spark in each other that drives our decision to be musicians,” Sawyer says. “With that spirit in mind, we are pushing for this album to be a celebration of what each of us brings to the table and why that leads to the sound SLO has as a whole.”
