Local indie-synth artist Pierce Alexander is currently working on a promising debut EP.

Hints of what to expect can be found on the impressive new single “Waiting for the Show,” which was produced by former Charlestonian Josh Kaler at James Island’s Ocean Industries.

A CofC student and current music student in the school’s jazz department, Alexander has been making music around Charleston for a few years now with bands like Heartfelt Hinges (“Heavy Heart” was released in August 2013, produced by Kaler) and the Better Wild, which released the Jay Clifford-produced single “Black Friday” last year. “Waiting for the Show” is the first song he has released under Pierce Alexander.

In addition to writing new material, the singer plans to spend the fall playing shows with Will Mahoney (bass), Patrick Magwood (sax, keys), Adam Ray (drums), and his brother Liam Michaels (synth).

With cover art by local musician and artist Nic Jenkins, the new album is likely to drop in 2016. You can stream “Waiting for the Show” and get updates on piercealexandermusic.com.
