In an effort to support those working to strengthen Charleston’s F&B communities, Prohibition Bar & Restaurant will begin hosting a weekly lounge night with a portion of the proceeds benefitting BACE League of Charleston.
Kicking off Mon. March 7 at 9 p.m., each event will feature drink specials for food and beverage professionals, bar snacks from Chef Greg Garrison, and live music from McKenzie Eddy and her band, led by Elliott Smith, guitarist Jimmie Choate, and drummer Quentin Ravenel. The ensemble will be joined by a different guest artist every week starting with Jordan Igoe. Other performers set to appear in the following weeks include Alicia Modoor, Manny Houston, and Zandrina Dunning.
“We’ve been big supporters of BACE League since its inception and are thrilled to partner with them on this fun, weekly event,” Prohibition owner James Walsh said in a press release. “Everyone is invited to join us on Mondays to help support this worthy cause and enjoy some great live music as well.”
Short for “Business, Art, Culture, and Entertainment,” BACE League launched in May 2014 in response to a proposed ordinance from Charleston City Council that would require all new late night establishments to close at midnight. From that point on, BACE League has focused on promoting civic engagement among the area’s creative community and professionals in the food and bev industry.
