The Vinyl Countdown (724 King St.) continues its monthly philanthropy in March by raising awareness and funds for local organization People Against Rape.

The record store donated $1,000 last month to the Charleston Animal Society, and this month, the PAR focus includes an art show on Fri. March 25 to benefit the organization.

“All of the artwork will be by Paige Duvall, who is an art teacher, incredibly talented artist in her own right, and an attempted rape survivor,” says Aaron Levy, owner of the Vinyl Countdown.

Duvall is a North Charleston art teacher whose home was invaded last year. When the 16-year-old boy tried rape her, Duvall bit the tongue off of her attacker.
