Needtobreathe hosts fifth annual charity golf tourny

The Classic benefits OneWorld Health

For the fifth consecutive year, South Carolina-based NEEDTOBREATHE will partner with Commonwealth Cares Foundation to host The Classic, a charity golf tournament set to take place at Daniel Island Golf Club on Mon. March 27.

Celebrity athletes and musicians — including retired NBA player Rick Barry, former Clemson quarterback Tajh Boyd, Hootie & the Blowfish’s Mark Bryan, and Lee Elder, a retired NBA player and the first African-American to play in the Master’s Tournament (1975) — will play to benefit OneWorld Health, an organization committed to providing attainable, quality healthcare to impoverished people in the developing world.

Later, NEEDTOBREATHE and friends will perform during an exclusive after-party and concert. OneWorld Health will receive $1 from each concert ticket sold.

In January, NEEDTOBREATHE was able to fund a Medical Center in Tola, Nicaragua due in part to proceeds from the golf tournament.
