Here's an interesting tidbit about Thomas Ravenel's day in court last week, from The Greenville News: "When former state Treasurer Thomas Ravenel stepped to the podium in a federal courtroom to plead guilty to cocaine conspiracy charges, half of the room was filled by a contingent from the NAACP."
Half? Impressive. Now if only the NAACP had motivated half their members to vote in the 2006 election, then Grady Patterson would still have a job and Ravenel would be free to do as he pleases without embarassing the state as a whole. But what fun would that be?
