If what a recent Christian Science Monitor report says is true — namely, that the funnier candidate wins the presidency — then Mike Huckabee has this thing in the whoopee cushion. Consider this statement, courtesy of WCBD TV-2, regarding the Confederate flag:
Republican presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee says the decision on whether to fly the Confederate flag in South Carolina should be made by South Carolina.
Huckabee campaigned Thursday in Myrtle Beach ahead of Saturday's primary. He said the government should stay out of disputes involving the flag.
He added that if somebody came to Arkansas and told people what to do with their flag, "we'd tell 'em what to do with the pole."
