Sarah's Key, a French film starring Kristin Scott Thomas, opens at the Terrace this Friday. It tells two stories, one of a modern woman whose husband inherits a house, and another of a 10-year-old girl, Sarah, who once lived there as well. Sarah and her family are arrested during the Vel' d'Hiv Roundup, when more than 13,000 were arrested and shipped of to concentration camps.

During the film's local run, on Sun. Aug. 21, the theater has paired up with the Charleston Jewish Federation to present a special night to benefit the REMEMBER Program for Holocaust and Genocide Education. After a screening of Sarah's Key, Jill Tarkanay, a French teacher at Bishop England High School, will lead a discussion. Tarkanay participated in a National Endowment for the Humanities seminar on World War II France.

The film runs through Aug. 25.
